Toby's Mom, Grandma Dorothy, was a caterer, so cooking and food was always a centerpiece of home life. She was also immensely and taught the kids to cook early, so she could take a break.
This is a simple recipe makes a single serving of Apple Crisp using a fresh apple and kids can do most of the work (for small kids, you can slice the apple and let them chop it up with a butter knife).
You don't have to peel the apples: I won't mention which of the siblings told his kids "if you eat the apple skins, you will get vitamins A & C and will be able to see at night", and thus never had to peel another apple for his kids again, PARENTING WIN!!!
Mix these together in a small bowl
Blend these together in a small bowl, this is fun for kids to take a fork and mash the flour, sugar and cinnamon into the butter. (little kids can chant "mash mash mash" as they blend it into the butter)
(If no one is looking, peak in the freezer and see if there is ice cream or cool whip to add on top to enjoy complete decadance)
